SEE ALSO...

STEAP Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects STEAP protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). STEAP (B-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The six-transmembrane epithelial antigen of the prostate (STEAP) plays a crucial role in cellular processes, particularly in prostate cancer, where STEAP is overexpressed. STEAP protein is primarily located in the cell membrane and is involved in the transport of ions and small molecules, which is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and signaling pathways. STEAP presence in human prostate tissue, along with elevated STEAP levels in various cancer cell lines such as those from the prostate, bladder, colon, ovarian, and Ewing sarcoma, underscores STEAP potential as a biomarker for cancer diagnosis and therapy. Additionally, concentrated STEAP protein levels at cell-cell junctions in the secretory epithelium suggest STEAP involvement in maintaining tissue architecture and function. Mouse STEAP shows 80% homology to human STEAP at both the nucleotide and amino acid levels, and human STEAP gene is located on chromosome 7q21, encoding a 339 amino acid protein.
