SEE ALSO...

Stat1 Antibody (C-136) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Stat1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Stat1 (C-136) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase, phycoerythrin, fluorescein isothiocyanate, and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Stat1 protein plays a crucial role in mediating cellular responses to interferons and other cytokines, which are vital for the immune response and regulation of gene expression. Upon activation by ligands such as interferons, Stat1 undergoes tyrosine phosphorylation, allowing formation of a heterodimer with Stat2, which is part of the ISGF3 transcription factor complex that translocates to the nucleus to initiate transcription of interferon-stimulated genes. This process is essential for the antiviral response and the regulation of immune functions, highlighting the importance of Stat1 in maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to external stimuli.

Does this antibody works on non-reducing conditions?

Asked by: Nmn002
Thank you for your question. We have not tested this antibody for non-reducing conditions, so I am unable to say if it will work or not. We recommend reducing/denaturing conditions for Westen blotting.

I want to perform some immunostaining in my mouse samples. How can I do that with a mouse monoclonal?

Asked by: Cweed
We recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. This product, sc-464, is available directly conjugated to AF488, AF647, and FITC.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good antibodyVery good antibody for STAT1 detection at the expected molecular weight. I used melanoma cell lysate, 40 ug protein/lane, PVDF membrane, blocking in 5% milk in TBST, over night incubation in 5% milk at 1:500 concentration. Detection was performed with Super Signal West Fempto.
