SSRP1 Antibody (3E4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects SSRP1 in human samples through western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP) applications. SSRP1 plays a crucial role in the regulation of gene expression by acting as a chromatin-specific elongation factor, essential for the transcription of chromatin templates. SSRP1 is part of the FACT complex, which is vital for the disassembly of nucleosomes during transcription, thereby facilitating the access of RNA polymerase to DNA. The interaction of SSRP1 with nucleosomes and histone H2A/H2B dimers is significant because it allows for the dynamic remodeling of chromatin, which is necessary for proper gene expression and cellular function. Additionally, SSRP1 interacts with serum response factors (SRF), serving as a positive co-regulatory protein that enhances SRF-dependent gene expression. Understanding SSRP1 function and interactions is important for elucidating the mechanisms of transcription regulation and the potential implications in various diseases where gene expression is disrupted.
