SSB-4 Antibody (C-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SSB-4 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SSB-4 (C-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SSB-4, also known as SPSB4 (spla/ryanodine receptor domain and SOCS box containing 4), is a 273 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in the ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation of target proteins, functioning as a substrate recognition component of the Elongin BC complex. SSB-4 is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where SSB-4 presence is vital for regulating protein turnover and maintaining cellular homeostasis. By mediating the degradation of specific proteins, SSB-4 helps to control various signaling pathways, thereby influencing processes such as cell proliferation, differentiation, and response to cytokines. The SOCS box domain within SSB-4 is essential for SSB-4 interaction with the Elongin BC complex, highlighting the importance of structural features in facilitating these critical cellular functions.
