SREBP-1 Antibody (A-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SREBP-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-SREBP-1 antibody (A-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SREBP-1 protein plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism, particularly in regulating cholesterol and fatty acid synthesis. SREBP-1 is synthesized as an inactive precursor that resides in the endoplasmic reticulum and nuclear envelope. Upon sterol depletion, SREBP-1 undergoes proteolytic cleavage, releasing a transcriptionally active fragment that translocates to the nucleus to activate genes involved in lipid biosynthesis. This process maintains cellular lipid homeostasis and responds to changes in nutrient availability. Dysregulation of SREBP-1 activity has been implicated in various metabolic disorders, including obesity and type 2 diabetes, highlighting SREBP-1′s importance in metabolic health.
