SEE ALSO...

SR Antibody (1H4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SR protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SR (1H4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase, phycoerythrin, fluorescein isothiocyanate, and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SR protein family plays a crucial role in pre-mRNA splicing, which is essential for accurate processing of mRNA and regulation of gene expression. SR proteins are primarily located in the nucleus, where SR proteins bind to specific RNA sequences known as splicing enhancer elements, which are vital for recognition of splice sites and control of alternative splicing. Presence of serine/arginine-rich (SR) splicing factors, such as SC35 and SRp40, is critical for constitutive splicing, while other members like SF2/ASF and SRp20 shuttle between nucleus and cytoplasm, facilitating mRNA transport. Intricate balance of SR proteins and interactions with other splicing factors, including members of heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein (hnRNP) family, underscores importance in regulation of splicing events, making SR (1H4) monoclonal antibody an invaluable tool for researchers studying gene expression and splicing mechanisms in human cells.

SR Antibody (1H4, sc-13509): Has someone observed whether this antibody is cross-reactive with mouse?

Asked by: raheld
Thank you for your question. PMID 28689656 cites use in murine P19 cells, so there does seem to be cross-reactivity with at least some murine samples.

Hi, does the antibody detect SR proteins or phopsphorylated SR protein. Where can I get more information on this in the data sheet? Thanks

Asked by: Riddhi
Thank you for your question. This antibody recognises both phosphorylated and non-phosphorylated protein.

Can SR (1H4): sc-13509 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. Yes, SR (1H4): sc-13509 monoclonal antibody has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
