SEE ALSO...

SR-4 Antibody (G-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SR-4 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SR-4 (G-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SR-4 protein, also known as 5-Hydroxytryptamine Receptor 4, plays a crucial role in mediating serotonin′s effects throughout the central and peripheral nervous systems, influencing physiological processes such as mood regulation, gastrointestinal motility, and cardiovascular function. SR-4 is primarily located in the brain and gastrointestinal tract, where SR-4 facilitates communication between neurons and regulates various neurotransmitter systems. Proper functioning of SR-4 is essential for maintaining homeostasis, as dysregulation of serotonin signaling has been implicated in numerous psychiatric and gastrointestinal disorders. SR-4 gene is located on human chromosome 5q31-q33, and SR-4 interactions with other serotonin receptors and signaling pathways underscore SR-4′s importance in both health and disease.

I am using SR-4 (G-3): sc-376158 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: Germaine
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Question Mark?I received samples of this antibody with Lot #G1217 and had a very good response. I received my new antibody vial which had a Lot #F0920 and got nothing with same dilutions. I don't have time to money to keep using sample and supplies to troubleshoot vials of antibody. Currently in a conflict with SC Technical. Interesting how SC offered a datasheet with a western blot image for Lot #G1217 by which my blots looked similar to and responded to, but the datasheet for Lot #F0920 had no image for western blot. Ironically I got no results also.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad resultsThe Ab doesn't work well with IF and IHC. We use a standard protocol, but we can see anything in our rat's slices.
