SEE ALSO...

Sprouty 2 Antibody (SQ-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Sprouty 2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Sprouty 2 antibody (SQ-5) is available as a non-conjugated format. Sprouty 2 plays a crucial role as a negative regulator of growth factor signaling, particularly in receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs). Sprouty 2 inhibits pathways activated by fibroblast growth factor (FGF) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), essential for controlling cell proliferation and migration in normal development and disease states, such as cancer. Sprouty 2 primarily localizes to the cytoplasm and associates with caveolin-1 in perinuclear and vesicular structures, highlighting importance in cellular signaling dynamics. Sprouty 2 undergoes post-translational modifications, including palmitoylation, which facilitates membrane anchoring and influences interactions with other signaling molecules. A well-conserved C-terminal domain of Sprouty 2 contains specific regions necessary for co-localization with microtubules and translocation to membrane ruffles, impacting regulatory roles in embryonic lung morphogenesis and angiogenesis. Sprouty 2 (SQ-5) antibody serves as a valuable tool for studying intricate mechanisms of growth factor signaling and implications in various biological processes.

Can sc-100862: Sprouty 2 (SQ-5) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-100862: Sprouty 2 (SQ-5) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
