Sprouty 2 Antibody (D-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Sprouty 2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Sprouty 2 (D-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The Sprouty family, which includes Sprouty 1-4, plays a crucial role as negative regulators of growth factor signaling, particularly through receptor tyrosine kinases. Sprouty 2 is primarily localized to the cell membrane, where palmitoylation allows association with caveolin-1 in perinuclear and vesicular structures. This membrane localization enables Sprouty 2 to effectively inhibit signaling pathways of various growth factors, including fibroblast growth factor and vascular endothelial growth factor, which are essential for processes like cell proliferation and angiogenesis. Additionally, the well-conserved C-terminal domain of Sprouty 2 is critical for interaction with microtubules and translocation to membrane ruffles, which are necessary for regulating cell migration and proliferation.
