SEE ALSO...

Spectrin α I Antibody (IID2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects spectrin α I in mouse, rat, human, and canine samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF) applications. Anti-spectrin α I antibody (IID2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Spectrin α I plays a crucial role in maintaining the structural integrity and stability of the plasma membrane in erythrocytes, as a key component of the cytoskeletal framework. Spectrin α I is primarily located beneath the plasma membrane, where spectrin α I forms a mesh-like structure that supports cell shape and facilitates deformability during circulation. Proper functioning of spectrin α I is vital for red blood cells, as defects can lead to various hematological disorders, including hereditary spherocytosis and elliptocytosis, which are characterized by abnormal red blood cell shapes. Spectrin α I monoclonal antibody (IID2) enables researchers to gain valuable insights into cytoskeletal dynamics and membrane organization of erythrocytes, contributing to a better understanding of related pathologies.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with spectrin α I (IID2): sc-53900?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety
