SP-D Antibody (10H11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects surfactant protein D (SP-D) in human samples through western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP) applications. Anti-SP-D antibody (10H11) recognizes a crucial component of the pulmonary surfactant system, primarily functioning as a collectin that plays a significant role in the innate immune response within the lungs. SP-D (10H11) antibody targets a protein predominantly located in the alveoli, where SP-D not only contributes to the reduction of surface tension but also acts as a first line of defense against respiratory pathogens. SP-D achieves this by binding to the lipid components of microbial cell walls, facilitating their clearance and thereby protecting the lung tissue from infection. Additionally, SP-D undergoes post-translational modifications, such as glycosylation, which are essential for stability and function, influencing SP-D′s ability to interact with pathogens and modulate immune responses. SP-D monoclonal antibody (10H11) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying pulmonary diseases, immune responses, and the intricate balance between surfactant function and host defense mechanisms.

I am using SP-D (10H11): sc-33730 antibody for immunoprecipitation, how much antibody should I use?

    Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. We recommend using 1–10 µl (i.e., 0.2–2 µg) of antibody with 1 ml of cell lysate. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration.
