SEE ALSO...

Sox-17 Antibody (3.5CH) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Sox-17 protein of mouse origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Sox-17 (3.5CH) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Sox-17 plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression during embryonic development, particularly in endoderm formation and pancreas and liver development. Sox-17′s ability to bind specific DNA sequences enables function as a transcription factor, influencing stem cell fate and differentiation into various cell types. Proper Sox-17 function is essential for normal development, and dysregulation has been implicated in various developmental disorders and diseases, including certain types of cancer. Understanding Sox-17′s role in these processes is vital for advancing therapeutic strategies and improving developmental biology knowledge.

I am using Sox-17 (3.5CH): sc-130295 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Some difficulty identifying endoderm cellsI used this antibody to attempt to identify endoderm cells after differentiating an hiPS cell line. The antibody seems to stain nuclei successfully in the cells I tested, though it was difficult to differentiate iPS cells from endoderm cells using this antibody alone. Thus, anyone attempting to use this antibody to identify endoderm cells may want to use it in conjunction with another antibody.
