Sos 1 Antibody (A-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Sos 1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Sos 1 (A-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Sos 1 protein plays a crucial role as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) that activates Ras proteins, which are pivotal in regulating cell growth, differentiation, and survival. By facilitating the exchange of GDP for GTP on Ras, Sos 1 initiates a signaling cascade that leads to the activation of downstream effectors, including the MAP kinase pathway, which is essential for various cellular responses. Proper functioning of Sos 1 is vital, as dysregulation of Ras signaling is implicated in numerous cancers and other diseases. Additionally, Sos 1 interacts with other proteins, such as Grb2, which serves as an adapter that links receptor tyrosine kinases to the Ras signaling pathway, further emphasizing the importance of Sos 1 in cellular signaling networks.
