Sororin Antibody (B-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Sororin of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Sororin antibody (B-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Sororin, also known as cell division cycle-associated protein 5 (CDCA5) or p35, plays a crucial role in regulating sister chromatid cohesion during mitosis, which is essential for accurate chromosome segregation and maintaining genomic stability. Sororin interacts with the anaphase-promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C) and is part of a larger complex that includes cohesion components such as SCC-112, SMC3L1, RAD21, and APRIN. Human and mouse Sororin proteins consist of 252 and 264 amino acid residues, respectively, both featuring a KEN box that is critical for APC-dependent ubiquitination, a post-translational modification that regulates protein degradation and cell cycle progression. Research indicates that Sororin exhibits a punctate nuclear distribution during interphase and a more diffuse localization throughout the cell during mitosis, with levels decreasing in synchronized HeLa cells during interphase. The Sororin gene is located on chromosome 11q12.1, highlighting its significance in cell cycle regulation and potential implications in cancer research.
