    SEE ALSO...

SorLA Antibody (7D7B11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects the SorLA protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SorLA (7D7B11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SorLA, also known as Sortilin-related receptor containing LDLR class A, is a Type I membrane protein that plays a crucial role in cellular processes, particularly in the uptake of lipoproteins and proteases. SorLA functions as a multifunctional endocytic receptor, facilitating the transport of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) into cells through endocytosis, which is vital for maintaining cholesterol homeostasis and cellular signaling. SorLA is synthesized as a proreceptor and undergoes processing by furin-like propeptidases to achieve its mature form. SorLA interacts with receptor-associated protein (RAP) and binds neuropeptides such as head activator, which are important for signaling pathways in the brain. SorLA is predominantly expressed in the brain, particularly in regions such as the cerebral cortex, cerebellum, and occipital pole, but is also found in other tissues including the liver, spinal cord, kidney, testis, and pancreas, highlighting diverse functional roles across different biological systems.
