    SEE ALSO...

SorCS2 Antibody (A-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects SorCS2 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SorCS2 antibody (A-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SorCS2, a single-pass type I membrane protein consisting of 1,150 amino acids, plays a crucial role in the central nervous system and is predominantly expressed in the brain and kidney. SorCS2 structure includes six BNR repeats and a single PKD domain, which are essential for intracellular trafficking and signaling. SorCS2 belongs to a family of receptors sharing homology with mosaic receptor SorLA and neurotensin receptor sortilin, characterized by a common VPS10 domain. This domain enables SorCS2 to bind and transport various ligands, influencing neuronal development and function. SorCS2 gene is located on human chromosome 4, a region notable for extensive gene deserts, which are areas devoid of protein-coding genes. Understanding SorCS2 structure and function is important for elucidating neurobiological roles and potential implications in neurological disorders.
