SNAT3 Antibody (H-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects SNAT3 in human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SNAT3, also known as SN1, G17, and NAT1, is a crucial glutamine transporter encoded by the SLC38A3 gene, playing a vital role in the transport of neutral amino acids across cell membranes. SNAT3 is predominantly expressed in astroglial cells throughout development and into adulthood, as well as in the liver, where SNAT3 facilitates the uptake of glutamine, an essential substrate for energy production and neurotransmitter cycling. Notably, SNAT3 expression levels in the postnatal brain are significantly higher—twice that of normal adult levels—indicating SNAT3′s importance in maintaining metabolic homeostasis in the central nervous system. Furthermore, elevated SNAT3 expression has been associated with primary malignant gliomas, suggesting SNAT3′s potential as a biomarker for tumor presence and progression. SNAT3 (H-7) antibody is therefore an invaluable tool for researchers investigating the role of glutamine transport in both normal physiology and pathological conditions.
