SEE ALSO...

SNAT1 Antibody (H-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SNAT1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SNAT1 (H-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SNAT1 protein, also known as ATA1 or NAT2, is encoded by the SLC38A1 gene located on chromosome 12q13.11 and plays a crucial role in glutamine transport, which is vital for urea synthesis and glutamate generation, particularly in the retina. SNAT1 is predominantly expressed in specific tissues such as the heart, brain, and placenta, with enriched levels found in certain neuronal populations within the central nervous system, while notably absent in astrocytes. SNAT1 function is essential for maintaining amino acid homeostasis, which is critical for various physiological processes, including energy production, metabolism, and neurotransmitter cycling. Using anti-SNAT1 antibody (H-9) in research can provide valuable insights into this transporter′s role in health and disease, particularly in neurological contexts.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with SNAT1 (H-9): sc-137032?

Asked by: AbPolly
We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety

Previously this antibody was also recommended for use with mouse and rat tissue with western blotting, what is the reason that this is not recommended anymore? and does it react with these species?

Asked by: Vfhj
Thank you for your question. This mouse monoclonal, SNAT1 Antibody (H-9): sc-137032, is still recommended for use with mouse, rat and human tissue. The mouse and rat species appear to have been temporarily removed from the website and datasheet due to an error with our updating system. This error will be addressed, and the species reactivity will be updated again shortly. Please contact our Technical Service Department if you have any questions.
