SEE ALSO...

SMTNL1 Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SMTNL1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SMTNL1 (G-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SMTNL1, also known as smoothelin-like 1, is a crucial cytoskeletal protein that plays a significant role in smooth muscle cell contractile function, where SMTNL1 is exclusively expressed. SMTNL1 contains a calponin-homology domain and is involved in actin cytoskeleton organization, which is essential for maintaining smooth muscle tissue structural integrity and contractility. SMTNL1 interacts with actin stress fibers, contributing to smooth muscle contraction regulation, but does not associate with desmin, highlighting SMTNL1′s specific role in smooth muscle physiology. SMTNL1 gene is located on human chromosome 11, a region associated with several genetic disorders, including Jervell and Lange-Nielsen syndrome and Jacobsen syndrome, underscoring SMTNL1′s importance in both normal physiology and disease states.
