SLC41A1 Antibody (C-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects SLC41A1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SLC41A1 (C-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SLC41A1, also known as MgtE, is a 513 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that plays a crucial role in magnesium transport, vital for numerous cellular processes, including enzyme function, DNA synthesis, and cellular signaling. SLC41A1 is localized to the cell membrane and features ten transmembrane domains, which facilitate function as a magnesium transporter, essential for maintaining magnesium homeostasis within the cell. SLC41A1 is predominantly expressed in tissues such as the heart, testis, skeletal muscles, prostate, adrenal gland, and thyroid, while showing weaker expression in hematopoietic tissues, bone marrow, lymph nodes, thymus, and spleen. Proper functioning of SLC41A1 is critical, as magnesium is a cofactor for over 300 enzymatic reactions, and disturbances in magnesium transport can lead to various health issues, including cardiovascular diseases and metabolic disorders.
