SLC25A3 Antibody (F-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects SLC25A3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SLC25A3 antibody (F-1) is available as the non-conjugated form. SLC25A3 protein, also known as phosphate transport protein (PTP), plays a crucial role in mitochondrial function by facilitating phosphate group transport into the mitochondrial matrix, which is essential for ATP synthesis and overall cellular energy metabolism. This multi-pass inner mitochondrial membrane protein, consisting of 362 amino acids, is highly expressed in tissues such as pancreas, skeletal muscle, and heart, where energy demand is particularly high. SLC25A3 exists in two alternatively spliced isoforms, designated SLC25A3 isoform A and B, and is characterized by three solcar repeats. The gene encoding SLC25A3 is located on human chromosome 12q23.1, and defects in this gene are associated with mitochondrial phosphate carrier deficiency (MPCD), a severe disorder that disrupts oxidative phosphorylation and can lead to fatal outcomes in infancy.
