SLC22A12 Antibody (2B5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects SLC22A12 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SLC22A12 antibody (2B5) is available as a non-conjugated format. SLC22A12 protein, also known as RST, OAT4L, or URAT1 (urate transporter-1), is a 553 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that belongs to the major facilitator superfamily and the organic cation transporter family. SLC22A12 is primarily expressed in the epithelial cells of the proximal tubules in the renal cortex, where SLC22A12 plays a crucial role in the reabsorption of urate, thereby regulating blood urate levels. This function is vital as SLC22A12 helps maintain homeostasis and prevent conditions such as gout, which can arise from elevated urate levels. SLC22A12 facilitates the exchange of urate against organic anions, and defects in the SLC22A12 gene can lead to renal hypouricemia, an inherited disorder characterized by low serum urate levels and high urinary urate excretion due to impaired tubular uric acid transport. Additionally, SLC22A12 contains three consensus sequences for N-glycosylation and two phosphorylation sites for cyclic AMP-dependent protein kinase, which are important for stability and function.

For Western Blot, is it recommended to use denatured or non-denatured conditions with SLC22A12 (2B5): sc-293405 antibody?
