    SEE ALSO...

SLBP Antibody (H-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SLBP in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SLBP antibody (H-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The stem-loop binding protein (SLBP) plays a crucial role in regulating histone mRNA, which is essential for proper cell cycle progression and gene expression. Unlike typical mRNAs, replication-dependent histone mRNAs lack polyadenylated tails and instead terminate with a conserved stem-loop structure. SLBP binds to this stem-loop at the 3′ end of histone mRNA, facilitating interaction with U7 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (SnRNP) to promote 3′ end processing, which is vital for stability and translation of these mRNAs. SLBP forms a stable complex with U7 SnRNP in both nucleus and cytoplasm, and SLBP levels fluctuate throughout the cell cycle, increasing during late G1 and decreasing at the S/G2 transition. SLBP regulation is primarily post-translational, with specific phosphorylation events on threonine 99 and threonine 104 leading to degradation in late S phase cells. hZFP100, a zinc finger protein, interacts specifically with the SLBP/RNA complex, highlighting the intricate network of protein interactions that govern histone mRNA metabolism.
