    SKAP Antibody (H-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SKAP in mouse and rat samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SKAP antibody (H-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The small kinetochore associated protein (SKAP), also known as KNSTRN, plays a pivotal role in the mitotic process by ensuring proper chromosome alignment and segregation during cell division. Located at the kinetochore, SKAP is crucial for stabilizing microtubule-kinetochore attachments, which is essential for accurate chromosome segregation. SKAP interacts with SPAG5, forming a complex that localizes to the ends of microtubules, thereby maintaining spindle pole architecture and regulating the metaphase-to-anaphase transition. Disruptions in SKAP function due to mutations in its encoding gene, located on human chromosome 15q15.1, can lead to severe consequences, including the development of cutaneous squamous cell carcinomas. Additionally, SKAP exists in three alternatively spliced isoforms and is down-regulated by nitric oxide, highlighting its complex regulatory mechanisms and importance in cellular processes.
