SIRP-α Antibody (C-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects SIRP-α in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SIRP-α (C-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SIRP-α, a member of the signal-regulatory protein family, plays a crucial role in modulating immune responses by negatively regulating the PI 3-kinase pathway, which is essential for controlling cell motility and survival in response to growth factors and oncogenic signals. SIRP-α is primarily located in the cell membrane, where its extracellular domain features three immunoglobulin-like structures that facilitate interactions with other proteins, while its cytoplasmic region contains four potential tyrosine phosphorylation sites that are critical for downstream signaling. Notably, SIRP-α interacts with the Src homology 2 domain-containing protein-tyrosine phosphatase SHP-2, and when phosphorylated, serves as a substrate for activated receptor tyrosine kinases, thereby influencing various cellular processes. The intricate balance of SIRP-α′s signaling capabilities underscores its importance in maintaining immune homeostasis and preventing aberrant cell proliferation, making anti-SIRP-α antibody (C-7) an invaluable tool for researchers studying these pathways.
