SEE ALSO...

Siglec-1 Antibody (HSn 7D2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects human Siglec-1 by immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-Siglec-1 antibody (HSn 7D2) is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Siglec-1, also known as CD169, is a sialic acid-binding receptor predominantly expressed on hemopoietic cells, playing a crucial role in mediating cell-cell interactions within lymphoid tissues. Siglec-1 recognizes sialylated ligands, which are essential for various biological processes, including immune response and cell signaling. The human Siglec-1 gene, located on chromosome 20p13, encodes a 1,709 amino acid protein that can exist in both membrane-bound and soluble forms due to alternative splicing. Siglec-1 exhibits a higher affinity for N-acetylneuraminic acid (Neu5Ac) compared to N-glycolylneuraminic acid (Neu5Gc), which has implications for interactions with different cell types and role in immune regulation. Siglec-1 expression at contact points between macrophages and other cells highlights its significance in facilitating local immune responses and maintaining tissue homeostasis.
