SID-1 Antibody (F-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SID-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SID-1 Antibody (F-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SID-1 protein, which is 827 amino acids long, is a member of the systemic RNA interference defective-1 (SID1) family of transmembrane proteins, originally identified in Caenorhabditis elegans. SID-1 protein is localized to the cell membrane and features eleven transmembrane domains, indicating a potential role as a channel protein. This structural characteristic suggests that SID-1 may facilitate the uptake of double-stranded RNA (dsRNA), a process particularly important in RNA interference and gene regulation. Notably, SID-1 overexpression has been shown to enhance dsRNA uptake in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma cells, highlighting significance in cancer biology and therapeutic applications. Additionally, SID-2, another member of the SID family, is an 832 amino acid protein that also contains multiple transmembrane domains and exists in at least two isoforms due to alternative splicing, further emphasizing the complexity and functional diversity of this protein family.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with SID-1 (F-12): sc-390015?

Asked by: Germaine
We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety
