SIAH-2 Antibody (24E6H3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects SIAH-2 in mouse, rat, human, and Drosophila samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-SIAH-2 antibody (24E6H3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SIAH-2, or seven in absentia homolog 2, is an E3 ubiquitin ligase that plays a crucial role in regulating protein degradation via the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway. SIAH-2 is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis, particularly under stress conditions, as SIAH-2 targets specific substrates for degradation. Notably, SIAH-2 interacts with TRAF2, a key regulator of stress responses and cytokine signaling, facilitating TRAF2 degradation during hypoxic conditions. Additionally, SIAH-2 targets prolyl hydroxylase 3 (PHD3) for degradation in response to low oxygen levels, which is critical for the regulation of hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha (HIF-1α) and subsequent cellular adaptations to hypoxia. SIAH-2′s ability to modulate these pathways underscores SIAH-2′s importance in cellular responses to environmental stressors, and SIAH-2 null mice exhibit impaired respiratory responses and reduced hemoglobin levels when subjected to hypoxia, highlighting SIAH-2′s vital role in oxygen homeostasis.

Are there any issues with using sc-81787: SIAH-2 (24E6H3) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Rated 3 out of 5 by from poor for endogenous SIAH2hard to detect endogenous SIAH2 by IFA or WB. But because we don't have the expression plasmid, we don't detect the exogenous protein.
