SEE ALSO...

Sg III Antibody (C-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Sg III protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Sg III antibody (C-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Sg III protein, also known as secretogranin III, is an acidic glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in storing and releasing neuropeptides and hormones within secretory granules of endocrine and neuroendocrine cells. Secretogranin III localization within these granules is vital for proper regulation of hormone secretion, particularly in response to physiological stimuli. Secretogranin III is predominantly expressed in specific cell types of the anterior lobe of the rat pituitary gland, including mammotropes and thyrotropes, and is involved in processing prohormones into bioactive peptides. Secretogranin III interacts with carboxypeptidase E, a key enzyme in peptide hormone maturation, highlighting secretogranin III importance in endocrine system functionality. High levels of chromogranin A, a family member of secretogranin III, are often associated with neuroendocrine tumors, underscoring secretogranin III relevance in both normal physiology and pathological conditions.
