SESN3 Antibody (2C9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SESN3 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-SESN3 antibody (2C9) is available as the non-conjugated form. SESN3, also known as sestrin 3, is a 492 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in cellular stress responses, particularly in regulating cell growth and survival. SESN3 is widely expressed and belongs to the sestrin family, which becomes upregulated in response to oxidative stress and DNA damage. SESN3 activates adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK), a vital energy sensor in cells that helps maintain cellular homeostasis. Through inhibition of the target of rapamycin (TOR) pathway, SESN3 contributes to autophagy and metabolic process regulation, making SESN3 essential for cellular adaptation to stress. The SESN3 gene is located on human chromosome 11, which harbors over 1,400 genes and is implicated in various genetic disorders, including Jervell and Lange-Nielsen syndrome and Niemann-Pick disease.
