SERCA1 Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects SERCA1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SERCA1 (A-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SERCA1, a member of the sarcoplasmic or endoplasmic reticulum calcium ATPase family, plays a crucial role in calcium homeostasis by mediating Ca2+ uptake into the sarcoplasmic reticulum, essential for muscle contraction and relaxation. SERCA1 is predominantly expressed in type II (fast) skeletal muscle, where SERCA1 facilitates rapid muscle contraction by ensuring low cytoplasmic calcium levels, promoting muscular relaxation after contraction. Proper functioning of SERCA1 is vital for muscle performance and overall muscle health, as dysregulation of calcium handling can lead to muscle fatigue and various muscle disorders. SERCA1, along with isoforms SERCA2 and SERCA3, undergoes alternative splicing, allowing tissue-specific expression and functional diversity, further underscoring SERCA1′s importance in muscle physiology and potential implications in cardiac function and muscle-related diseases.
