SEE ALSO...

Sel-1L Antibody (F-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Sel-1L protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Sel-1L antibody (F-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Sel-1L protein is primarily located in cytoplasm and nuclei of normal pancreatic cells, which is significant as localization is crucial for cellular signaling and tumor suppression roles. Sel-1L has been shown to possess antiproliferative properties, effectively inhibiting tumor cell growth in various cancers, including breast, pancreatic, esophageal, and prostate cancers. This inhibition occurs through extracellular matrix remodeling, creating a microenvironment less conducive to invasive growth. Sel-1L may influence transforming growth factor-beta signaling pathways, which are vital for regulating cell growth and differentiation. Approximately two-thirds of breast tumors exhibit marked downregulation or complete absence of Sel-1L expression, leading to disrupted cell-matrix interactions and collagen binding. This disruption facilitates transition from normal mucosa to neoplastic lesions, suggesting Sel-1L could serve as a potential biomarker for identifying patients at high risk of developing cancer.
