SEI-1 Antibody (3H4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects SEI-1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SEI-1 (3H4) antibody is available as the non-conjugated form. SEI-1 protein, also known as SERTAD1 (SERTA domain containing 1) or TRIP-Br1 (Transcriptional regulator interacting with the PHD-bromodomain 1), plays a crucial role as a transcriptional regulator that integrates signals from various transcription factors. SEI-1 is particularly important for regulating gene expression at E2F-responsive promoters, where SEI-1 interacts with the PHD- and bromodomains of proteins such as TIF1 and DP-1, facilitating signal transmission to the promoter and enhancing transcriptional activity. SEI-1 forms a multiprotein complex with E2F-1 and DP-1, exhibiting varying expression levels throughout the cell cycle, which allows SEI-1 to effectively regulate cell cycle progression during the G1 and S phases. SEI-1 can also modulate the activity of the cyclin D-Cdk4 complex, making cyclin D-Cdk4 resistant to p16 inhibitory effects, thereby influencing cell cycle dynamics. Overexpression of SEI-1 has been linked to the development of squamous cell carcinomas of the head and neck, highlighting SEI-1′s potential role in cancer biology and making SEI-1 a significant target for research and therapeutic interventions.
