SDHC Antibody (C-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SDHC protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-SDHC antibody (C-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. SDHC protein plays a crucial role in the mitochondrial respiratory chain as a component of the succinate dehydrogenase complex, which is essential for aerobic respiration. This complex catalyzes the oxidation of succinate to fumarate, a key step in the tricarboxylic acid cycle, linking the metabolic pathways of the Krebs cycle and oxidative phosphorylation. Proper functioning of SDHC is vital for energy production in cells, and mutations in SDHC can lead to significant mitochondrial dysfunction, resulting in various hereditary disorders such as paraganglioma and Leigh Syndrome. Understanding SDHC structure and function is critical for elucidating the mechanisms underlying these diseases and developing potential therapeutic strategies.
