SEE ALSO...

SATB2 Antibody (SATBA4B10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SATB2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-SATB2 antibody (SATBA4B10) is available as a non-conjugated format. SATB2, or Special AT-rich sequence-binding protein 2, plays a crucial role in craniofacial development, particularly in jaw and palate formation, and is integral to a transcriptional network regulating skeletal development and osteoblast differentiation. SATB2 shows predominant expression in adult and fetal brain and features two CUT DNA-binding domains along with one homeobox domain, essential for gene regulation function. SATB2 shares close relation to SATB1, a known transcriptional repressor, and interacts with matrix-attachment regions (MARs) to modulate transcription of various genes, including HoxA2 and ATF4 (CREB-2), both vital for skeletal development. SATB2 functions as a transcriptional activator and repressor, serving as a protein scaffold that enhances activity of other DNA-binding proteins. Mutations in SATB2 can lead to cleft palate and are often associated with severe cognitive impairments, highlighting significance in both developmental biology and potential clinical implications.

Can I use this mouse monoclonal antibody for immunohistochemical staining of mouse tissue?

Asked by: Cweed
This product, sc-81376, is recommended for immunostaining applications. However, it is not readily available directly conjugated to a fluorphore, which we suggest for the staining of mouse tissue. To inquire about directly conjugated primary antibodies, please contact our special orders department for more information.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent staining on mice and rat brain sectionsI tested a sample of this antibody in both mice and rat free-floating brain sections (E17 and P1) and got excellent staining. Signals are stronger with antigen retrieval protocol (citrate buffer, pH 6.0), but are acceptable without antigen retrieval.
