SAPS2 Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SAPS2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SAPS2 (C-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SAPS2, also known as SAPS domain family member 2, PP6R2, or KIAA0685, consists of 966 amino acids and is primarily localized in the cytoplasm, where SAPS2 exists as multiple alternatively spliced isoforms. SAPS2 plays a crucial role as a regulatory subunit of the protein phosphatase 6 holoenzyme, which is essential for various cellular processes, including protein scaffolding and the degradation of IκB-ε, a key inhibitor of nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells (NF-κB). The regulation of NF-κB is vital for controlling immune responses and inflammation, making SAPS2 an important player in maintaining cellular homeostasis. The gene encoding SAPS2 is located on human chromosome 22, a region associated with several genetic disorders, including Phelan-McDermid syndrome and Neurofibromatosis type 2, highlighting SAPS2′s significance in both health and disease.
