SAP 62 Antibody (A-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects SAP 62 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SAP 62 (A-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. SAP 62, also known as SF3A2 (Splicing factor 3A subunit 2), PRP11, PRPF11, or SF3a66, is a 464 amino acid protein characterized by one matrin-type zinc finger and belongs to the SF3A2 family. SAP 62 is primarily localized in the nucleus, serving as a crucial subunit of the SF3A splicing factor complex, which is essential for accurate pre-mRNA splicing. The SF3A complex, composed of three subunits, facilitates U2 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (snRNP) binding to the branchpoint sequence in pre-mRNA, a critical step in converting 15S U2 snRNP into the active 17S form that directly participates in splicing events. SAP 62 functions as the second subunit of this complex, engaging with subunit 1 (SAP 114) through its N-terminus while simultaneously interacting with 15S U2 snRNP via its zinc finger domain. Beyond RNA splicing involvement, SAP 62 also functions independently as a microtubule-binding protein, highlighting its multifaceted role in cellular processes.
