Sacsin Antibody (F-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Sacsin in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Sacsin is a crucial protein involved in chaperone-mediated protein folding, primarily expressed in the central nervous system, with additional expression noted in skeletal muscle and pancreatic tissues. Sacsin′s structure contains seven nuclear localization signals, three coiled-coil domains, and two leucine zipper motifs, alongside the DnaJ motif and a hydrophobic domain located in its C-terminal region. These structural features are essential for Sacsin′s function in facilitating proper protein folding and preventing aggregation, which is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis. Defects in the SACS gene, which encodes Sacsin, can lead to autosomal recessive spastic ataxia of Charlevoix-Saguenay (ARSACS), a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by early onset symptoms such as reduced motor-nerve velocity and absent sensory-nerve conduction, highlighting Sacsin′s importance in neurological health. The prevalence of ARSACS in the Charlevoix-Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec underscores the critical role that Sacsin plays in the nervous system, making anti-Sacsin antibody (F-1) an invaluable tool for researchers studying this protein and its associated pathologies.
