S-100A3 Antibody (A-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects S-100A3 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). S-100A3 (A-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. S-100A3, also known as S100 calcium binding protein A3 or S100E, is a 101 amino acid cysteine-rich protein specifically expressed at the inner endocuticle of hair fibers. S-100A3 contains two EF-hand domains and exists as a multimer, which is crucial for function. S-100A3 binds calcium with low affinity and zinc with high affinity, playing a significant role in the calcium-dependent differentiation of cuticle cells and formation of hair shafts. S-100A3′s importance in hair follicle biology highlights potential implications in understanding hair growth disorders and other related pathologies. S-100A3 expression levels can vary in different pathological conditions, making S-100A3 a valuable marker for research in inflammation and tumor cell motility.
