S-100A14 Antibody (5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects S-100A14 protein of human origin by immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). S-100A14 monoclonal antibody (5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. S-100A14 protein, a member of the S-100 protein family, plays a crucial role in cellular processes, particularly in calcium homeostasis regulation and inflammatory response modulation. S-100A14 is predominantly expressed in the colon, with moderate levels found in the thymus, kidney, liver, small intestine, and lung, while low expression is noted in the heart, and remains absent in the brain, skeletal muscle, spleen, placenta, and peripheral blood leukocytes. S-100A14 consists of 104 amino acids and features two EF-hand calcium-binding domains, which are essential for calcium signaling function. S-100A14 contains a myristoylation motif, a glycosylation site, and several potential phosphorylation sites, indicating involvement in various post-translational modifications that can influence activity and protein interactions. Understanding S-100A14 expression and function is vital, as altered levels have been associated with various pathological conditions, including inflammation and cancer, making S-100A14 a significant target for research and therapeutic applications.
