SEE ALSO...

Rtn-1/2 Antibody (RNL-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Rtn-1/2 protein of human, rabbit, and Rhesus monkey origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-Rtn-1/2 antibody (RNL-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The reticulon (Rtn) family, which includes Rtn-1, Rtn-2, Rtn-3, and Nogo, plays a crucial role in the endoplasmic reticulum′s structure and function, particularly in neural and neuroendocrine tissues. Rtn-1, also known as neuroendocrine-specific protein, is essential for maintaining endoplasmic reticulum integrity and is involved in neuroendocrine secretion and membrane trafficking. Rtn-1′s structure, characterized by its reticulon homology domain, is vital for shaping the endoplasmic reticulum and facilitating membrane tubule formation. Rtn-2, encoded by a gene located on chromosome 19q13, also contributes to these processes and is expressed in various tissues, with Rtn-2-A and Rtn-2-B isoforms being highly abundant in the brain. Understanding Rtn proteins′ structure and function helps elucidate their roles in cellular processes and potential implications in neurodegenerative diseases.
