    RT1-Ac Antibody (OX27) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects RT1-Ac protein of mouse and rat origin by immunofluorescence (IF) and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-RT1-Ac antibody (OX27) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RT1-A protein is a crucial component of the rat class I major histocompatibility complex (MHC I), which plays a vital role in the immune response by presenting nonself peptides on the cell surface for recognition by cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs). Structurally, RT1-A molecules consist of two polypeptide chains: an alpha or heavy chain and beta-2-microglobulin, which is a non-covalently associated protein. This unique structure allows RT1-A to effectively bind and present antigenic peptides, typically 8-10 residues in length, within a specialized peptide binding groove. The ability of RT1-Ac to present these peptides is essential for the activation of CTLs, which are critical for the immune system′s ability to identify and eliminate infected or malignant cells. RT1-Ac represents haplotype c of the RT1-A antigens, making RT1-Ac (OX27) antibody a valuable tool for studying immune responses in both mouse and rat models.

    In this case, we recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. This antibody is available conjugated to phycoerythrin (sc-53076 PE) or fluoroscein (sc-53076 FITC).
