    SEE ALSO...

RT1-A Antibody (OX18) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects RT1-A protein of mouse and rat origin by immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RT1-A (OX18) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RT1-A protein is a crucial component of the rat class I major histocompatibility complex (MHC I), which plays a vital role in the immune response by presenting nonself peptides on the cell surface for recognition by cytotoxic T-lymphocytes (CTLs). MHC I molecules consist of class Ia and class Ib proteins and are composed of two polypeptide chains: an alpha or heavy chain and beta-2-microglobulin, which is a non-covalently associated protein. RT1-A structure allows for the binding of antigenic peptides, typically 8-10 residues in length, within a specialized peptide binding groove, thereby stabilizing the interaction and facilitating the immune response. Cytotoxic T lymphocytes specifically recognize these antigenic peptides presented by RT1-A molecules, making RT1-A essential for the adaptive immune system′s ability to distinguish between self and nonself entities.

what titer should I use for western blot?

    Asked by: Mary J
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:100 for Western blot applications.

How can RT1-A (OX18): sc-53074 mouse monoclonal antibody be used for double or triple staining, if the other primary antibodies are also raised in mouse?

    Asked by: Germaine
In this case, we recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. This antibody is available conjugated to phycoerythrin (sc-53074 PE) or fluoroscein (sc-53074 FITC).
