rRNA Antibody (Y10b) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects the rRNA protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by immunoprecipitation (IP) and immunofluorescence (IF). anti-rRNA antibody (Y10b) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Ribosomal RNA (rRNA) is a vital component of ribosomes, where rRNA plays a crucial role in the assembly of amino acids into polypeptides, ultimately leading to protein synthesis. The structure of rRNA is particularly important as rRNA forms the core of ribosomal architecture, providing a scaffold for ribosomal proteins to assemble. Eukaryotic ribosomes are composed of four distinct rRNA molecules: 5S, 5.8S, 18S, and 28S, each synthesized in different cellular compartments, with 5.8S, 18S, and 28S being produced in the nucleolus and 5S in the nucleus. These rRNA molecules not only contribute to the structural integrity of the ribosome but also facilitate critical functions such as correctly positioning messenger RNA and peptidyl transferase activity, which is essential for peptide bond formation during translation. The abundance of rRNA, constituting approximately 80% of the total RNA in a typical eukaryotic cell, underscores rRNA′s fundamental role in cellular biology and the significance of rRNA antibody (Y10b) in studying ribosomal function and protein synthesis.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Specific and clear antibodyI used this antibody for immunofluorescence staining to track the ribosomes in the sectioned slices of the intestinal samples, the picture is clear and seems reasonable, the results correspond with our western blot results, but I didn't check the high resolution, so here I would like to say it's good to use for the mouse tissue sample staining purpose.
