RPTPα Antibody (H-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects RPTP alpha protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-RPTPα antibody (H-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The receptor protein-tyrosine phosphatase α (RPTPα) plays a crucial role in cellular signaling by dephosphorylating and activating Src family tyrosine kinases, which are essential for the regulation of integrin signaling, cell adhesion, and growth factor responsiveness. RPTPα is primarily located in the cell membrane, where RPTPα contains an extracellular domain, a single transmembrane segment, and two tandem intracytoplasmic catalytic domains, allowing RPTPα to form constitutive dimers that are vital for function. The human RPTPα sequence encodes a 793 amino acid protein, and in mouse models, RPTPα is constitutively phosphorylated at Ser 180 and Ser 204, which may influence activity and interactions. Additionally, RPTPα serves as a receptor for the Helicobacter pylori vacuolating cytotoxin, VacA, highlighting RPTPα′s importance in both normal cellular processes and pathogenic interactions.
