    SEE ALSO...

RPGRIP1 Antibody (C-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects RPGRIP1 of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RPGRIP1 (C-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RPGRIP1, also known as retinitis pigmentosa GTPase regulator interacting protein 1, plays a crucial role in the structure and function of photoreceptor cells in the retina. RPGRIP1 is essential for proper morphogenesis of photoreceptor outer segments, where RPGRIP1 localizes to the cilium and interacts with SEC16S, a protein involved in trafficking proteins to the outer segment. The structural integrity of RPGRIP1 is vital, as RPGRIP1 forms homodimers and elongated homopolymers, which are necessary for function. Mutations in RPGRIP1 can lead to severe retinal diseases, including Leber congenital amaurosis type 6 and cone-rod dystrophy type 13, both of which result in significant visual impairment. Understanding RPGRIP1 structure and function is essential for developing therapeutic strategies for these inherited retinal disorders.
