RNF123 Antibody (267.1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects RNF123 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-RNF123 antibody (267.1) is available as the non-conjugated format. RNF123, also known as RING finger protein 123 or KPC1 (Kip1 (p27) ubiquitination-promoting complex protein 1), plays a crucial role in regulating the cell cycle by functioning as an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase. RNF123 is primarily located in the cytoplasm and is essential for the ubiquitination and subsequent degradation of p27, a cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor, during the G1 phase of the cell cycle. The degradation of p27 is vital for cell cycle progression, as p27 allows for the transition from the G1 phase to the S phase, thereby promoting cell proliferation. RNF123 contains a RING-type zinc finger domain, which is important for ligase activity, and RNF123 interacts with GBDR1, another component of the KPC complex, to facilitate the ubiquitination process. Additionally, RNF123 has been shown to exist in two isoforms due to alternative splicing, which may have implications for functional diversity in cellular processes.
