SEE ALSO...

Rit2 Antibody (27G2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects the Rit2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Rit2 antibody (27G2) is available as the non-conjugated format. Rit2, also known as Ras like without CAAX 2, is a member of the Ras superfamily of small GTPases, notable for its lack of a CAAX motif, which is critical for cellular localization and functional dynamics. Predominantly expressed in the brain, Rit2 is integral to neuronal differentiation and cytoskeletal organization, and plays a significant role in neurotransmitter release, underscoring its importance in various neurological functions. Rit2′s structure, characterized by a unique GTP-binding domain, allows interaction with specific downstream effectors, influencing signaling pathways vital for maintaining neuronal health. This structural specificity enables Rit2 to modulate processes such as synaptic plasticity and neuronal survival, linking Rit2 to neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson′s disease. By affecting dopaminergic neuron function, Rit2 may influence disease risk or progression, making Rit2 a promising target for therapeutic interventions aimed at understanding and treating neurodegenerative disorders. Rit2′s unique positioning in cellular signaling and neurological pathways emphasizes potential as a focal point for research into molecular mechanisms underlying neuronal function and pathology.
