Ribosomal Protein S16 Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects RPS16 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-RPS16 antibody (D-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RPS16, also known as Ribosomal Protein S16, is a crucial component of the 40S ribosomal subunit, consisting of 146 amino acids and belonging to the S9P ribosomal protein family. RPS16 plays a significant role in ribosome assembly and translation initiation, processes vital for protein synthesis in cells. Proper functioning of RPS16 is essential, as disruptions in ribosome assembly can lead to impaired protein synthesis, which is linked to various diseases, including cancer. Notably, elevated levels of RPS16 have been associated with pancreatic and breast cancer, indicating potential involvement in tumorigenesis. Like many mammalian ribosomal proteins, RPS16 is represented by multiple processed pseudogenes scattered throughout the genome, reflecting evolutionary significance and complexity.
