Ribosomal Protein L13A Antibody (C-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Ribosomal Protein L13A (RPL13A) of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RPL13A antibody (C-11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RPL13A, also known as the 23 kDa highly basic protein, plays a crucial role in the assembly and function of the ribosome, specifically as a component of the 60S subunit, which is essential for protein synthesis in eukaryotic cells. RPL13A consists of 203 amino acids and is located in the cytoplasm, where RPL13A contributes to the formation of the ribosomal structure and facilitates the translation of mRNA into polypeptides. RPL13A′s importance extends beyond its structural role; RPL13A is also involved in the regulation of gene expression and cellular stress responses, making RPL13A a vital player in maintaining cellular homeostasis. The gene encoding RPL13A is mapped to human chromosome 19q13.42 and is associated with multiple processed pseudogenes throughout the genome, highlighting RPL13A′s evolutionary significance and the complexity of ribosomal protein gene families.
